From Pool Gear Plus

There are many ways to introduce algae into one’s swimming pool, but the most common and frequently cited means by which algae is introduced and allowed to blossom is sanitizer deficiency.  If the levels of sanitizer, usually Chlorine, are kept at acceptable levels, algae would never have the opportunity to take hold in the swimming pool.  Once in bloom, the different types of Algae, specifically Black Algae and Mustard Algae, are extremely difficult to erridicate and become increasingly resistant to erradication measures.  In this article by Pool Gear Plus, the different types of Algae are discussed, and the different ways to prevent and remove them are expounded upon.
