Swimming pool alarms are an important layer of protection for swimming pool safety.  Coupled with safety covers, fencing, and proper attention, the swimming pool alarm can provide a necessary backup shield to prevent unnecessary drownings in a swimming pool.  The National Drowning Prevention Alliance, through their website Poolsafely.gov, provides this list of tips and recommendations for swimming pool alarm systems.  Remember the old adage:  “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.  With swimming pools, the ounce of prevention can be a life saved.
