Exercise in water can provide many benefits. The resistance can give a more vigorous workout, and is much easier on joints and areas that are typically affected by higher-impact exercises. Additionally, the water can provide a cooling effect on the body that will allow the athlete to potentially work out longer, thus increasing stamina. A fitness center in New York has taken this concept to an entire new level, offering bicycle spin classes underwater. This is an ingenious idea, and must be seen to be believed.
