Did you know that drowning is the second leading cause of death among children 1-19? A large reason for this is that large percentages of children in the United States do not know how to swim. This statistic is especially prevalent in minorities, where 70 percent of African-American children, 60 percent of Latino children and 40 percent of white children are unable to swim. Brody tells of these glaring statistics, some history into the probably cause of the minorities deficiencies in this area, and what is being done about it by some very influential athletes in the swimming arena.
