How to Clean Hot Tub Filters

From Swim University

For hot tub owners, maintenance is a necessary evil.  Just washing out the sides and keeping the chemicals are hard enough, but actually having to clean the cartridge filter on a spa system is a real nuisance for most hot tub owners.  This post from Matt Giovanisci of Swim University provides an easy to follow guide that illustrates the different methods for thoroughly and efficiently cleaning these filters, and eliminating alot of the hassle of ownership.

Here is an excerpt from the post:

1. The Quick Rinse

Pull the filters out of your hot tub and give them a quick rinse with water. You can rinse them with a garden hose or in a sink.

Be sure to spread apart each pleat and rinse well between them to get any dirt, hair, or other debris out.

I recommend quick rinsing your filters at least once a week if you use your hot tub quite a bit.

2. The Chemical Rinse
