7 Addicting Hot Tub Games You Can Play With Family and Friends

Summer nights, at least at the beginning and end of summer, tend to be comfortably cool.  Too cool, sometimes, to use the swimming pool for fun and frolicking after dark.  Enter the hot tub.  Long the bastion of rest and relaxation, the hot tub is the perfect recreational vehicle for these cool evenings.  Wouldn’t it be great if there were a way to utilize the hot tub in much the same way that the swimming pool is utilized?  This post from Matt Giovanisci from Swim University presents this post which makes the hot tub the gaming center of the entire backyard.

Why do you own a hot tub? For relaxation, hydrotherapy or romance? Because you wanted to impress someone? How about for playing games? I’m willing to bet that didn’t even cross your mind when you decided to buy your hot tub.

Playing games in a hot tub is nothing new, but my friend Pierre came up with a great collection of water-based games you, your friends and family can play in the hot tub.

1. Hot Tub Hockey

The Object: To get the floating object to touch the opposing team’s side of the hot tub using only water or air.

How to Play
Place the floating object in the middle of the tub. Create two teams and each sit on opposite ends of the tub. When someone blows the whistle, each team must get the object to touch the opposing team’s wall to earn one point.

You can blow or create waves, but you cannot touch the object. Splashing is allowed and actually makes the game quite fun. The team that scores three points first is the winner and gets to impose a penalty on all members of the losing team.
