With the overwhelming trend nationwide of bringing the staycation to one’s own backyard, homeowners are looking to add resort-style amenities to their own outdoor paradise.  Features like outdoor kitchens, fountains with programmed shows, fire features, pizza ovens, etc. etc. are all appearing in backdoor outdoor living spaces all over the U.S.  Perhaps the most exciting feature, at least for families with children, is the water slide.  The last couple of decades have seen a proliferation of custom, waterpark-type slides in residential backyards.  These slides provide longer flumes, sometimes enclosed, and are always thrilling for kids and family.  This post from Houzz has a huge compendium of pictures featuring some of the most stunning examples of this amenity.
